Diane Winston
Knight Chair in Media and Religion
Diane Winston holds the Knight Chair in Media and Religion at the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Southern California. A national authority on religion and the media, her expertise includes religion, politics and the news media as well as religion and the entertainment media. A journalist and a scholar, Winston's current research interests are media coverage of Islam, religion and new media, and the place of religion in American identity.
Nomi Morris
Instructor
Nomi Morris was a foreign correspondent for the Toronto Star, San Francisco Chronicle, Detroit News, CBC Radio and Time. She also was Senior Writer for International at Maclean’s, Canada’s national news magazine, before moving to Jerusalem in the late 1990s as Middle East Bureau Chief for Knight Ridder Newspapers. Based in California since 2001, she has written for Newsweek, Los Angeles Times, Santa Barbara News-Press. Before working at Annenberg, Nomi was Program Chair for Visual Journalism at Brooks Institute in Ventura. Starting in Fall 2017, she is teaching in the Writing Program at UC Santa Barbara.

Zara Abrams is a freelance writer based in Los Angeles with a master's degree in Specialized Journalism from the University of Southern California. She writes about science and religion.
Catherine Clark
Catherine Clark was born and raised in Houston, Texas, Catherine Clark is a freelance journalist who writes about politics and social and cultural issues. She has a Master's in Journalism from the University of Southern California.
Lauren Day
Lauren Day is a reporter at KMIR News in Palm Springs, CA. She graduated from the University of Southern California's Annenberg School in 2017.
Barbara Estrada
Barbara Estrada is a 2017 graduate of the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School. Barbara majored in Broadcast and Digital Journalism. She was a reporter/anchor for Annenberg Media's International Desk, the Digital Editor for Dímelo and the founder/current member of National Association of Hispanic Journalists at USC.
Renee Gross
Renee Gross is a freelance radio producer. Her work has appeared on shows such as NPR’s Latino USA, Marketplace, Life of the Law and WHYY’s The Pulse. She holds a masters degree in journalism from the University of Southern California.
Jolene Latimer
Jolene Latimer is is a freelance writer from Los Angeles by way of Canada. She holds a M.A. from the University of Southern California in Specialized Journalism and covers everything from religion to entertainment. Her work can be found on The Huffington Post, where she is a contributor.
Jenny Lower
Jenny Lower is a freelance journalist based in Los Angeles. She has written for various outlets including L.A. Weekly, Los Angeles magazine, the Los Angeles Review of Books, and Artbound.
Alexandra Meeks
Alexandra Meeks is currently an Associate Producer at CNN interested in human rights and international affairs.. She is currently pursuing her Master of Arts degree in Specialized Journalism at the University of Southern California.
Juliet Muir
Juliet Muir focuses on video and broadcast journalism and recently earned a maters degree at the University of Southern California Juliet has four years of producing and reporting experience, including publications at NBCWashington.com and working at WJLA 7 and Time Warner Cable News Charlotte. She is working as a fellow at Good Morning America.
Priyadarshini Sen
Priyadarshini Sen is Special Correspondent at Outlook Magazine in New Delhi, and has written for various national dailies and weeklies in India. She covers human rights issues, health, politics and religion.
Zachary Siegel
Zachary Siegel is a journalist and writer focusing on public health and drug policy. He frequently contributes to The Daily Beast, Slate and The Fix. His work has also appeared in Salon, Huffington Post, Chicago Reader and many other places. He recently earned a master's degree in specialized journalism from the University of Southern California's Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.
Marie Targonski-O'Brien
Marie Targonski-O'Brien is a freelance journalist who writes about the environment, human rights and women’s issues. She previously worked with refugees and victims of gender based violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo. She received a Masters degree in Journalism from the University of Southern California's Annenberg School in 2017.
