Kael Alford is a photojournalist and videographer based in Dallas, Texas. She develops long-term, documentary projects about social and cultural issues misrepresented or under reported in mass media narratives.
Alford returned to Iraq to locate people she had photographed in 2003-2004 before the country underwent the violent upheaval of civil war.
She produced a series of interviews and photo essays that explore how Iraqis characterize the political or ethnic nature of sectarian violence that has plagued the country following the U.S. – led invasion.
