Kibbutz Mezer, located 45 minutes south of Haifa in Israel, is known for its peaceful, productive coexistence with its Arab neighbors in nearby Meiser.

The kibbutz was named Mezer, or 'border' in Hebrew, because the community lies so near the border of Israel and the West Bank. Meiser was named for Sheikh Meiser, the faithful servant of Fatimah (the prophet Muhammad's daughter).
