About the Project and its Reporters

Bethany Firnhaber, Rosalina Nieves, and Robyn Carolyn Price traveled to Jerusalem, East Jerusalem, Nazareth, Haifa, and Jaffa with a group of journalists from the University of Southern California to report on coexistence between Jews and Palestinians in Israel. They met with religious, political and human rights activists as well as educators, legislators, refugees, and media commentators to explore the ways in which the ongoing regional conflict affects on the ground attitudes, beliefs and behaviors.

During their two week trip, they visited Kibbutz Mezer and the neighboring Arab village of Meiser to discuss the unique relationship the two communities share, some of the challenges of coexistence, and their perspective on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as a whole. Their goal is to provide a glimpse into how successful models of coexistence, like that of the communities of Mezer and Meiser, can survive in Israel and the greater Middle East.
